Wales will play Spain in a glamour Cardiff friendly in October -- the first fixture between the two countries for 33 years.
The game, announced by the Football Association of Wales on Friday alongside a November trip to Albania, could be played at the 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
The national football team has not played at the home of Welsh rugby since a Euro 2012 qualifier against England in March 2011, preferring instead to play at the Cardiff City Stadium.
"Venue information for Wales v Spain will be released in due course," said a statement on the official FAW website.
The Principality Stadium is available to host Ryan Giggs' side on October 11 with the Wales rugby team not playing their first autumn international until Nov. 3.
Wales have set up base at the compact 33,000-capacity Cardiff City Stadium in recent years, where the fervent atmosphere played its part in helping Chris Coleman's side qualify for Euro 2016.
But the FAW believe they could sell out the Principality Stadium for a high-profile friendly against the 2010 World Cup winners and talks are expected with the Welsh Rugby Union.
The game pits Wales talisman Gareth Bale against his Real Madrid team-mates Sergio Ramos, Isco and Marco Asensio, as well as featuring English-based stars such as David de Gea, David Silva and Alvaro Morata.
The two countries last met in a World Cup qualifier in April 1985 when Mark Hughes scored a wonder volley in a 3-0 Wales win at Wrexham.
Wales have also announced a friendly against Albania, which will be played at the Elbasan Arena in Elbasan on Nov. 20.
The two friendlies will be played on 'free' international match days during the UEFA Nations League competition.
New manager Giggs had his first games in charge at the China Cup last month, Wales beating the tournament hosts 6-0 before losing 1-0 to World Cup-bound Uruguay.
