France to play Italy in friendly after European Championship

France and Italy will warm up for their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaigns with a friendly match in September, the French Football Federation (FFF) has announced.

The FFF said the game will take place on Sept. 1 in a city to be determined.

It will be France's first match following the European Championship from June 10-July 10, and the 38th game between the neighbours.

France, coached by Didier Deschamps, play their first World Cup qualifier away to Belarus on Sept. 6, while Italy begin their campaign away to Israel a day earlier.

Italy coach Antonio Conte has already confirmed he will step down after Euro 2016 to take charge of Chelsea.
