Paul Pogba ruled out of France friendlies against Armenia, Denmark

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been ruled out of France's two upcoming international friendlies with an ankle injury.

Pogba sprained his right ankle in training on Wednesday and Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps subsequently allowed him to return to Juve after a scan confirmed the injury on Thursday.

"Paul Pogba, who had to leave the training session prematurely on Wednesday, underwent an MRI that showed a sprained ankle," the FFF said in a statement. "Given that he cannot play both games, [coach] Didier Deschamps had decided to hand over the player to his club."

France play Armenia in Nice on Thursday before travelling to Copenhagen to face Denmark on Sunday.

Juve will hope he is back in action to help the Serie A champions recover from their poor start to the season when they take on Inter Milan on Oct. 18.
