Neymar scores two as Brazil roll past U.S., Mexico draw with Argentina

Neymar scored twice as a substitute as Brazil controlled the United States in a 4-1 win in a friendly on Tuesday in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Brazil opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Willian ran past Alejandro Bedoya to the touchline. His high cross came off the inside of the far post before falling right into the path of Hulk, who fired into the back of the net.

Neymar made an immediate impact for Brazil when he came on at half-time, drawing a foul from Geoff Cameron in the box and slamming the resulting penalty past Brad Guzan to make it 2-0.

Rafinha scored his first international goal in the 64th minute following a counter-attack. The Barcelona forward danced with the ball at his feet to shake U.S. defender Tim Ream and shoot past Guzan to make it 3-0.

Soon after, Rafinha stepped over a pass and Neymar had plenty of time to score at the near post to extend the advantage to 4-0.

The U.S. could only manage a stoppage-time consolation goal as Danny Williams unleashed a 30-yard rocket that ruinedĀ Marcelo Grohe's clean sheet.

Lionel Messi scored a spectacular 89th-minute volley, capping Argentina's comeback from a two-goal deficit in a 2-2 friendly draw against Mexico.

Sergio Aguero beat goalkeeper Moises Munoz in the 85th minute after Ezequiel Lavezzi kept the ball from rolling over the end line and cut it back.

With 49 international goals, Messi moved within seven of tying Argentina's record, set by Gabriel Batistuta from 1991 to 2002.

Before a pro-Mexico crowd of 82,559, the teams dealt with a temporary grass field filled with brown streaks and divots.

Javier Hernandez put El Tri ahead with a penalty kick in the 19th minute after Nicolas Otamendi took down Raul Jimenez. Hector Herrera doubled the lead in the 70th minute with a shot that went in off goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman.

Peru found a late penalty to manage a 1-1 draw against Colombia in New Jersey.

Carlos Bacca had given Colombia the lead shortly before half-time and they appeared headed for a win until Frank Fabra fouled Jefferson Farfan, who scored the resulting penalty in the 89th minute.

Bryan Ruiz's eighth-minute goal was enough for Costa Rica to defeat Uruguay.

Venezuela scored an equaliser late into stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw against Panama amid heavy rain.

Rolando Blackburn had given Panama a third-minute lead, but Venezuela were able to rally after Francisco Carabali was sent off late.

The ball fell to Salomon Rondon to score following a goal-mouth scramble, and Panama goalkeeper Luis Mejia was then sent off for protesting.

Ecuador scored twice in the first half to defeat Honduras 2-0.

A David Velasquez own goal put Ecuador ahead after 13 minutes, and Miller Bolanos doubled the advantage 20 minutes later.

South Africa defeated Senegal 1-0 as Mpho Makola scored his first international goal in the 78th minute.

Nigeria defeated Niger 2-0 with a goal in each half from Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon.

Zambia and Gabon drew 1-1, Yves Bitseki's penalty for Gabon cancelling out Rainford Kalaba's first-half goal.
