United States and Costa Rica to play friendly in October

The United States will face Costa Rica in a friendly in October, three days after the decisive CONCACAF Cup match against Mexico.

After the game at the Rose Bowl on Oct. 10 decides whether the U.S. or Mexico will go to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, the Americans will cross to country to face the Ticos at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. on Oct. 13.

The friendly will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and be televised on ESPN.

Costa Rica will return to Red Bull Arena for the second time in two months after Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Brazil. The Ticos will be coming off a scheduled friendly against South Africa.

It will be the first meeting between the teams since 2013, with the all-time series even at 13 wins apiece with six draws.

The game is the last for both sides before 2018 World Cup qualifying begins in November.
