Emmanuel Adebayor fails to report for international duty with Togo

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has failed to arrive for international duty with Togo, an official has told Sky Sports News.

The official said Adebayor had been named in the squad to face Djibouti on Friday, but had not reported for duty.

"He has not given us a reason," the official said. "He was in the squad -- but he has just not shown up."

The news comes a day after Tottenham omitted Adebyor from both their 25-man Premier League squad and their Europa League list.

Spurs published their squad lists for the league until Jan. 1 and the Europa tournament on their official website, and the out-of-favour player has been excluded.

Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Adebayor is now in limbo at the club, having been consistently linked with a move away throughout the summer.

West Ham had been keen to bring him to Upton Park before the transfer window closed on Tuesday.

He also came close to joining Aston Villa earlier in the summer, but that deal fell through over his reluctance to move from London.
