134 goals, 20 Indian scorers, five goalless draws

1

Only one team doesn't have an Indian goal scorer this season, and that team is in the semifinals. Atletico de Kolkata's 16 goals have come from six players of five distinct nationalities, but none of them Indian. The only other time this happened before was when FC Pune City didn't have an Indian scorer after 56 matches in 2014.

2

FC Pune City is one of two teams to have scored the fewest goals after the league stages this season, with 13 goals. While Mumbai City FC scored just 16 goals last year, Kerala Blasters join Pune with 13 goals this season and had just nine goals in 2014, when they went on to play in the final.

Three hat-tricks have been scored this season - Diego Forlan of Mumbai City FC, Chennaiyin FC's Dudu Omagbemi and Marcelo Pereira of Delhi Dynamos - with Dudu scoring his second hat-trick in the ISL and becoming the first to both do it for two different teams (FC Goa last year) and not in a winning cause, as Chennaiyin were held to a 3-3 draw by NorthEast United FC.

CK Vineeth of Kerala has scored the most goals after the league stages this season among Indian players, his winner in the last match against NorthEast United taking him past Kean Lewis of Delhi Dynamos. The record for most goals after 56 matches is seven, by Sunil Chhetri for Mumbai last year.

5

The total number of goalless draws this season is half of that in the league stages of 2014 (10) but more than double of what it was in 2015 (2). In 2014, there were two further goalless draws in the two legs of the semifinals between Goa and Kolkata.

Both Goa and Chennaiyin may have failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time, but they have given the league stages of the ISL nine unique scorers, the most among all teams. These two teams also had the two highest Indian scorers - five for Goa and four for Chennaiyin. These figures don't reflect one own goal for Chennaiyin, which was scored by Goa's Gregory Arnolin in the 5-4 result between them, the highest-scoring match in ISL history.

13

There have been 13 instances of the home team winning matches and just one victory for the away team in the last 21 games played this season. The ratio for away wins to home wins had been taken to 14-10 when Pune rode on a Eugeneson Lyngdoh winner to beat Mumbai on November 10, but since then, Kolkata are the only team to have registered an away win.

27

Delhi are the top scorers this season with 27 goals, a number that is not as impressive as FC Goa's 29 last year, but is three better than Chennaiyin FC's 24 in 2014.

32

Twenty Indian players have accounted for 32 goals this season, while 20 Indians had scored 45 goals after 56 matches of the league stages in 2015. The corresponding numbers were lower in 2014, though, when 17 Indian players scored just 23 goals.

38

There were decisive results in 38 out of the 56 league games this season, an average rate of close to two out of every three matches played. This is marginally better than 2014 (when there were 36 results in 56 matches) but not as good as 2015, when the corresponding figure was 44.

134

There have been 134 goals scored after the 56 matches of the league stages of ISL 2016. The corresponding fixture last year was 171, while in 2014 there were just 121 goals.
