ISL goalscorers 101

The first goal of the season was scored by Katsumi Yusa of Japan, as he helped NorthEast United win the season opener 1-0 against Kerala Blasters in Guwahati.

The number of countries that have just one representative on the score sheet -- England, Nigeria, Japan, Romania and Equatorial Guinea, whose only scorer is Brazil-born Eduardo Ferreira of FC Pune City. Eduardo has also scored the only own goal of the season, and is thus the only player to have scored at both ends of the pitch this year.

Among FIFA's six confederations, only Oceania is not represented among the scorers. CONMEBOL (South America) with 26 goals has outscored all the Indians in the ISL.

The least number of goals scored, by 2015 finalists FC Goa, is also the least number of goals conceded, by Mumbai City FC.

The number of goals scored this season by the marquees, with four of them contributing to the scoring. Diego Forlan has top-scored with five goals; Florent Malouda has three, while Helder Postiga and Mohamed Sissoko have two goals each. The marquee players yet to score are John Arne Riise, Lucio, Aaron Hughes and Didier Zokora.

The number of goals scored by Indians so far this year. It compares favourably with the number of goals scored by Indians at the same stage in 2014 (18), but is much lesser than the 35 goals scored by Indians last season.

The 25th goal of the year was scored by Uruguayan striker Emiliano Alfaro, as his equaliser for NorthEast United enabled them to hold Delhi Dynamos to a 1-1 draw in Delhi.

The 50th goal of the season went to Marcelo Pereira, as he scored the first goal in a strong second-half performance by Delhi Dynamos, winning 2-0 away to FC Goa.

Players from 52 different countries have scored goals this season. India have the most scorers this season, with 15 of them accounting for 23 goals.

The 75th goal of the season came from CK Vineeth, as he scored the first of two dramatic goals at home for Kerala Blasters, who came back from 1-0 down against defending champions Chennaiyin FC to take the match 3-1.

The century of goals came through Matias Defederico of Mumbai City FC, whose third goal of the season was also his first since October 11, when he had scored in a 1-1 draw against Atletico de Kolkata. That's a welcome return to scoring touch after 43 days.

The number of goals scored after 46 games of the ISL this season. The corresponding figure in 2014 at the same stage was 102, while there were 130 goals after 46 matches in 2015.
