Myanmar's Yan Naing Oo stole all the headlines at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, as he scored inside 13 seconds of the kick-off to help his team to a 2-2 draw against the hosts India in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Myanmar didn't let an Indian get a touch of the ball, as left-back Si Thu Aung played left-winger Thein Than Win into space with a one-two, and Than Win's cross was met by a rising Naing Oo, who beat India's Jerry Lalrinzuala to stun the hosts with an early lead. India had to dig deep and pulled level on two occasions, thanks to goals either side of half-time from Sunil Chhetri and Jeje Lalpekhlua, which sandwiched a 19th-minute strike from Myanmar striker Kyaw Ko Ko. Fast as Naing Oo's goal was, it wasn't the quickest in international football. Here are four goals that were definitely quicker. IM Vijayan (India), 12 seconds September 28, 1999, Kathmandu India were playing their second group match of the football competition at the South Asian Games in Kathmandu against Bhutan, and Vijayan was their man in form, having scored a hat-trick against Pakistan in a 5-2 win just two days prior to this game. Vijayan would get all of India's goals in their 3-0 win on the night, registering the first inside 12 seconds as India kicked things off. It still remains the fastest goal by an Indian player in international football history, with Vijayan scoring his seventh goal of the tournament as India beat Maldives 3-1 in the final to win gold. Hakan Sukur (Turkey), 11.07 seconds June 29, 2002, Daegu Hosts South Korea and Turkey were competing for third place at the 2002 FIFA World Cup after fairytale runs to the last four of the event for the first time ever, and the first goal in a 3-2 win for Turkey came in perhaps the most anti-climactic way possible. Receiving a ball from one of his teammates after Korea kicked off, the hosts' captain and centre-back Hong Myung-Bo did not see Besiktas striker Ilhan Mansiz pressing him from behind and then squaring the ball for Parma's Sukur to score his only goal of what remains the best performance at the World Cup by the Turks. Davide Gualtieri (San Marino), 8.3 seconds November 17, 1993, Bologna San Marino faced England in the last match of their maiden World Cup qualification campaign for USA '94, having shipped in 39 goals and scored just one in nine games till then. San Marino put a long ball in from kick-off, and Stuart Pearce's intended pass towards David Seaman in goal was picked up by Gualtieri, and England were 1-0 down. They would score seven goals to finish their qualification on a winning note, but missed the flight for U.S. as Netherlands beat Poland away in Poznan in a simultaneous kick-off. This remained Gualtieri's only goal in international football. Christian Benteke (Belgium), 8.1 seconds October 10, 2016, Faro Belgian striker Benteke registered the fastest international goal of all time when his team took on Gibraltar for the third match of the 2018 World Cup qualification campaign for both sides. Playing in Portugal since Gibraltar's stadium at home did not meet FIFA standards, Benteke seized on an error from defender Jamie Bosio and put the ball past goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim, setting Belgium on their way to a 6-0 win.
