Hull City's Marco Silva to become Porto manager - sources

Hull City boss Marco Silva is set to leave the club to become Porto's new manager, sources close to the relegated Premier League side have told ESPN FC.

Silva confirmed after the 7-1 defeat against Tottenham on Sunday that he would resolve his future at Hull this week.

The former Olympiakos and Sporting Lisbon manager finds himself in-demand after almost guiding Hull to safety. The Tigers looked well placed to stay up before losing games Sunderland and Crystal Palace to allow Swansea to finish above them in the table.

Watford and Southampton have been linked with moves for Silva following his impressive work at the KCOM Stadium after only taking over from Mike Phelan in January.

However, Porto have moved to try to lure him back to his homeland as they look for a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo after he stepped down on Monday at Estadio do Dragao following just one season in charge.

Porto finished second in Portugal behind Benfica this season and they can offer Silva Champions League football next season.

Silva is now set for talks with Porto officials about replacing Nuno and is expected to take up the opportunity.
