Hull City appeal Tom Huddlestone's red card in defeat against Everton

Hull City have announced that they have appealed against the red card shown to Tom Huddlestone during Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Everton.

Huddlestone, 30, was sent off by Paul Tierney after 73 minutes in the Premier League clash at Goodison Park for a foul on Idrissa Gueye.

The score at the time of the midfielder's dismissal was 1-0 to Everton, with the home side going on to score three more goals late on.

A Hull statement read: "The Tigers have appealed against Tom Huddlestone's red card in Saturday's match against Everton.

"The 30-year-old was dismissed in the second half at Goodison Park after referee Paul Tierney ruled he had fouled Idrissa Gueye.

"If the appeal is unsuccessful, Huddlestone will miss the Tigers' forthcoming Premier League fixtures against West Ham United, Middlesbrough and Manchester City.

"The club will hear the outcome by the end of the week."
