Huddersfield's U.S. international Danny Williams ruled out for rest of season

Huddersfield Town's U.S. international Danny Williams will miss the rest of the season after suffering a fractured fibula.

Williams, 29, suffered the injury during a training session ahead of Saturday's home game against Crystal Palace.

The club said he would undergo surgery on Friday, with the injury bringing a premature end to a season in which he has made 11 Premier League starts.

"We are all disappointed that Danny has suffered this injury and now we offer him our full support as he begins his recovery," Huddersfield head coach David Wagner told the club's official website.

"He's adapted well to football in the Premier League and has been in some great form for us recently.

"He's a big character in the dressing room too, and I have no doubt that he will be determined to come back fitter and stronger than before."
