Hertha Berlin's Sebastian Langkamp admits Emre Mor flop 'over the top'

Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai felt a draw was the right result after his side came away from Borussia Dortmund with a point, while Sebastian Langkamp admitted he overreacted in a clash with Emre Mor late on.

Mor and Valentin Stocker were both given red cards in a fast and furious finish after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had bounced back from his penalty miss to cancel out Stocker's opener.

"If you look at how the game went then I think 1-1 is fair,'' Dardai told Sky.

"It was real men's football tonight, and I like that.

"Getting a point out of Dortmund is fantastic for us. We defended well, transitioned well and played with discipline. I'm happy.

"Stocker was a bit overly motivated in the end and thank God he didn't injure [Matthias] Ginter, while Mor will learn from his red card because if he does not retaliate, his opponent gets a yellow card and he gets a free-kick.''

Instead, Mor pushed Langkamp to the ground after being fouled just outside the penalty area, even if the Hertha defender admitted he had made a meal of it.

"It was a bit over the top, what I did in that incident with Mor,'' said Langkamp.

"I just got a bit carried away by the atmosphere and tend to exaggerate in the heat of the moment.

"I'm sorry because it shouldn't have been a red card for Mor.''

That was nevertheless not being used as an excuse by Dortmund defender Sebastian Rode, who said that all of his teammates can learn from the game.

"We didn't always make the right decision or play the right pass and we know we can do better than this,'' he said.

"We lacked precision here and there. We can just be happy that we came back from falling behind and got a draw, even if there was more in it for us when you consider the penalty miss.

"But we had a lot of very, very young players on the field today.''

Thomas Tuchel wouldn't comment on the red cards, but he did say that he thought his team should probably have taken all three points.

"I found that their goal helped us," Tuchel said. "We could then have more freedom to play.

"We increased the pace and found better spaces. The draw was well deserved, even if it has come late.

"[But] at the moment it feels like we deserved the victory. We have played with intensity, emotion and thrown everything [at them]."

As a result, both teams could be happy with the draw while league leaders Bayern Munich could prove to be the real winners when they face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, having seen their two closest rivals fail to pick up maximum points this weekend.
