Liga MX club Chivas de Guadalajara continue to strengthen ahead of the 2020 Clausura season, with Mexico striker Jose Juan Macias returning to the club and Cristian Calderon signing from Necaxa on Wednesday.
Macias was the highest Mexican goal-scorer in Liga MX in 2019 at loan club Leon and has recently broken into the Mexican national team, scoring four goals in his first five appearances for El Tri.
The 20-year-old worked his way up the Chivas youth system, but was frustrated at a lack of minutes and was eventually loaned to Leon, where he established himself as one of Liga MX's best strikers.
"Chivas brothers and sisters: I'm back home with my beloved team and with the family," said Macias in a video message. "We need everyone's support. We're going for the title."
Macias is on record saying that he'd like to move to Europe early in his career, but stated on Tuesday that he would like to first win a championship with Chivas.
Macias is likely to replace Alan Pulido, who signed for MLS side Sporting Kansas City on Tuesday.
The Chivas revamp continued with the announcement of 22-year-old left-back Calderon on Wednesday. Former Atlas player Calderon has also established himself in the Mexican national team this year under Gerardo Martino.
Chivas' new sporting director Ricardo Pelaez has also brought in Mexico international Uriel Antuna from Manchester City, midfielder Jose Juan "Gallito" Vazquez from Santos Laguna and Jose Maduena from Cruz Azul.
The club is reportedly set to sign Victor Guzman from Pachuca, as well as Alexis Pena and Jesus Ricardo Angulo (both from Necaxa) in a major overall of the squad after five seasons without making the playoffs. The club also flirted with relegation in that time.
Chivas only play with Mexican players and is considered one of Mexico's "big two" teams, along with Club America.
