Greek side Panathinaikos have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United forward Federico Macheda on a three-year deal.

Macheda, 27,  burst onto the scene with a last-gasp winner on his United debut against Aston Villa in the 2008-09 campaign, which would help the club go level with Liverpool on 18 Premier League titles. Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is closing on a move to Olympiakos, sources close to the Greek club have told ESPN FC.

Burnley fan stabbed, 4 others injured at Europa League match in Athens

A Burnley fan was stabbed in the leg and four others were injured in clashes before Thursday's 3-1 Europa League playoff defeat by Olympiakos in Athens, the Premier League club said.

Arsenal have sold striker Chuba Akpom to Greek club PAOK for an undisclosed fee.

Arsenal announced the deal on Friday, with Akpom moving abroad again after spending part of last season on loan in Belgium.

The 22-year-old has been at Arsenal since the age of six but never managed to establish himself in the first team and has had six loan stints in the last five years.
