Tony Adams: Granada must fight until the end despite lack of confidence

Caretaker Granada coach Tony Adams has told his struggling team "to fight until the very end."

Adams saw Granada slump to a third straight defeat since he took over when Malaga beat them 2-0 at home on Tuesday.

The result left them seven points adrift of safety having played a game more than 17th-placed Leganes.

But Adams told the club's official website: "My job is to make them fight to the very end.

"If we do get relegated, it's still important for me to push the players to the very last moments. That is what we owe to the Granada supporters.

"There has not been a lot to shout about this year, but we have to try to fight until the last minute of the last game."

Adams said Tuesday's defeat had seen the players' heads "go down very quickly" and added: "It took a lot of motivating to keep their heads up and keep trying. They lost their confidence."

The former Arsenal and England captain was appointed as caretaker earlier this month after Granada sacked Lucas Alcaraz following a dismal run of results.

Granada are away to Real Sociedad on Saturday and then host Real Madrid on May 6.
