Emmanuel Boateng revels in Ghanaian support after Real Madrid strike

Levante's Emmanuel Boateng has been taken aback by the support he's received back in Ghana after scoring against Real Madrid at the weekend, and has revealed that he's steadily adapting to life in Spain.

The 21-year-old joined Granotas from Moreirense in a four-year deal back in August, but has taken his time to find his feet in Spanish football before finding the net against Real on Saturday.

Boateng's maiden La Liga strike helped Levante to a 2-2 draw against Zinedine Zidane's side, and has left the striker encouraged by the praise he's received from his homeland.

"I am feeling very good because I am receiving a lot of calls and the messages from Ghana and it has really made me happy and I am proud of myself," Boateng told Levante's official website.

"I thank God for how far he has brought me because it is not easy to score against a big team like Real Madrid, so I am really happy."

The youngster was a product of Charity Stars FC in Ghana, Boateng joined Rio Ave in Portugal in 2014. He switched to Moreirense a year later, and also represented Ghana's U-20 side at the 2015 World Championship in New Zealand.

He's also praised Levante coach Juan Muniz for helping him settle in Valencia.

"When I came I had some difficulties because it is really difficult to adapt in La Liga because it is one of the biggest leagues in the world, he continued, "but the coach talked to me a lot and helped me.

"Now I think I am used to how they play so I am really happy and hopefully I will get a lot more chances to play more here."
