Germany's Low: We want to secure qualification without dropping a point

Germany manager Joachim Low has asked his side to finish their World Cup qualifying unblemished, as the defending world champions have yet to drop a point thus far.

Low's side on Wednesday edged England 1-0 in an international friendly which marked Lukas Podolksi's final match with the national team.

The four-time world champs have thus far collected the maximum 12 points from their first four Group C matches, and their longtime coach has challenged the team to remain perfect throughout.

Low said: "Our objective is clear. We want to secure qualification for the World Cup without dropping any points.

"Every player is fit. The only doubt is Mesut Ozil. We'll wait until after our last training session to decide on him."

Germany, who have yet to concede a goal in qualifying, will face third-placed Azerbaijan at Baku National Stadium on Sunday. And Low indicated Wolfsburg striker Mario Gomez will be an option in attack for the match.

"Mario Gomez will start," said Low. "He causes defenders problems and has been scoring goals for Wolfsburg."
