Germany set new clean sheets record in friendly victory over England

Germany have set a new international association record for clean sheets after their 1-0 win over England on Wednesday.

Joachim Low's side have not conceded a goal in their last seven games, keeping opponents at bay for a total of 648 minutes.

England came close to beating Germany keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen on several occasions, with Adam Lallana hitting the post in the first half and Ter Stegen saving from Dele Alli.

Germany last conceded in the 2-0 loss to France in the Euro 2016 semifinals, keeping clean sheets against Italy, Finland, Norway, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, San Marino and England since then.

The previous record -- set by Germany in 1966 -- lasted for 605 minutes and six matches before the run was ended by Spain at that year's World Cup in England.
