Werder Bremen defender Papy Djilobodji has admitted he likes peas, but knows that stopping Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will not be easy in the DFB Pokal match this Tuesday.

"He is a very good forward," the Chelsea loanee said of Hernandez, whose nickname means "little pea" in Spanish.

Despite the signing of Djilobodji during the winter transfer period, Bremen's struggles in the Bundesliga have continued in the first three matches of 2016. While taking all three points from Schalke 04, they have since conceded eight goals, and picked up one point in their two games against Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Especially in the match at Gladbach last Friday, Bremen's defense struggled to show their quality, and following the 5-1 defeat Werder remain 16th in the Bundesliga, and could face a season-long struggle to avoid relegation.

On Tuesday, however, Bremen could secure their berth in the DFB Pokal semifinals when they visit Bayer Leverkusen.

The meeting at the Bay-Arena will see Djilobodji take on Bayer's in-form Mexico international Hernandez, who has struck 21 goals in 25 matches since his arrival from Manchester United last summer.

"Should peas be served on Tuesday, I will eat them," the 26-year-old Bremen defender told reporters, while admitting that it won't be that easy.

"He's a very good forward, who is on target in nearly every match," Djilobodji said. "I'll try to stop him. It's fun playing against him."
