Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 'very happy' after striking again in BVB win

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was on target again as his club qualified for a fifth consecutive DFB-Pokal quarterfinal with a 2-0 win at Augsburg.

Aubameyang took his season's tally to 27 goals in 26 games when he broke the deadlock after 61 minutes.

"I'm really, really happy," the Gabon attacker told Dortmund's TV channel. "It was a tough game on a difficult pitch, but we did it.

"It was really important to win today, and we did it. Very good."

Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed Dortmund's win soon after Aubameyang had struck, with the goals coming after a tough first half.

Augsburg, who face Liverpool in the Europa League, kept BVB at bay, but coach Thomas Tuchel said his players had stepped up the pace after the break.

"In the second half, we were much better at finding spaces. The frequency of our passing was at a higher rate, we played with more tempo," the Dortmund coach added.

Aubameyang has now scored seven times in games he has played against Augsburg, netting hat tricks against them both in 2013 and earlier this season.

"I don't know why, but every time against Augsburg it's all really good," he said. "I score and that's just good. Today I scored again, and I am really happy."
