Bayern land Hamburg in DFB-Pokal

DFB-Pokal holders Bayern Munich were drawn against Bundesliga rivals Hamburg in the second round of the cup.

Pep Guardiola's men will travel north at the end of October in the pick of the second-round ties, which include two all-Bundesliga encounters.

With five top-flight teams falling at the first hurdle, that means only a maximum of 11 Bundesliga sides will make it to the last 16, although even fewer may make it through with some other difficult ties for the top-flight representatives.

Borussia Dortmund will also travel to Hamburg, to face St. Pauli.

"That's a cracking draw for us,'' said Roland Vrabec, coach of the second division side.

Freiburg head to 1860 Munich with Cologne heading to local rivals Duisburg in two other potentially difficult trips.

The other all-Bundesliga clash is between Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach while at least five lower-league sides are guaranteed a place in the last 16 with Offenbach hosting Karlrsuher, Dynamo Dresden entertaining Bochum, Wurzburger Kickers welcoming Eintracht Braunschweig to Bavaria, Kaiserslautern facing Furth and RB Leipzig up against Aue.

Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen will fancy their chances of progressing against two of the lowest-ranked sides still in the competition, Magdeburg and Chemnitz.

The ties will be played on Oct. 28 and 29.
