Bayern Munich drawn with Paderborn in DFB Pokal quarterfinals

David Alaba says Bayern Munich are focused on preparing for the second half of the season as the possibility of a treble looms.

Eighteen-time winners Bayern Munich will travel to third-division Paderborn in the DFB Pokal quarterfinals in February.

Paderborn were relegated in back-to-back seasons in 2015 and 2016 and only survived an unwanted hat trick after Bayern's local rivals 1860 Munich failed to gain a licence to play in the third tier after suffering relegation last summer.

"We will never underestimate an opponent, but we are pleased with the draw," Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said. "We could have met...

Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller inspire Bayern Munich past Dortmund

Despite the final scoreline of 2-1 in Bayern's favor, the FC guys discuss whether the second half displayed underlying flaws for Munich.

Bayern Munich edged into the quarterfinals of the German Cup with an unnecessarily tense 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund. Andrej Yarmolenko pulled a goal back on 77 minutes for the cup holders after first half goals from Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller had put the 18-time winners firmly in command.

Peter Stoger fumes over Dortmund's dire first-half display vs. Bayern

Despite the final scoreline of 2-1 in Bayern's favor, the FC guys discuss whether the second half displayed underlying flaws for Munich.

Peter Stoger slammed his team's timid first-half showing after Borussia Dortmund were eliminated from the German cup, losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

"I'm satisfied with our reaction in the second half. But the way we presented ourselves in the first half, you cannot win a Bundesliga match let alone a cup game away to Bayern," Stoger told ARD after the match.

The 51-year-old Austrian had to make do without centre-forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was ruled out due to hip problems....

Bayern Munich have 'performed exceptionally' in my return - Heynckes

Despite the final scoreline of 2-1 in Bayern's favor, the FC guys discuss whether the second half displayed underlying flaws for Munich.

Jupp Heynckes said Bayern Munich had "performed exceptionally" since he took charge for a fourth term in October as the 18-time cup winners kept their Treble hopes alive by knocking DFB Pokal holders Borussia Dortmund out 2-1.

First half goals from Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller had put the Bavarians firmly in command at the break. However, Bayern failed to take a host of chances to end the game as a contest and Andrej Yarmolenko reduced the arrears on 77 minutes for BVB.

Marcel Schmelzer, defence let Roman Burki, Dortmund down vs. Bayern

Despite the final scoreline of 2-1 in Bayern's favor, the FC guys discuss whether the second half displayed underlying flaws for Munich.

Bayern Munich deservedly moved on to the round of eight of the DFP-Pokal, dismantling Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

The hosts dominantly showed the gulf in class between them and Dortmund in the first half and why there is currently a 13-point gap in the league between the two Bundesliga teams.

Though, FCB were wasteful early on, as chances came thick and fast against the bodiless visitors. Centre-back Jerome Boateng headed home a rebound in the 12th minute after...
