DFB Pokal follows FA Cup in trialling fourth substitute in extra-time

Bayern Munich are the current holders of the DFB Pokal.

Clubs in Germany's DFB Pokal will be able to make a fourth substitution in extra-time as part of an ongoing pilot of a proposed change to the laws of the game.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) in March approved an additional sub in matches played at last summer's Rio Olympics and at the Club World Cup and it has welcomed trials across several competitions.

Dynamo Dresden to appeal against punishment for bull's head incident

Dynamo Dresden have been ordered to close sections of their ground for one game.

Dynamo Dresden will appeal against a €60,000 German Football Federation (DFB) fine and partial stadium closure after fans threw a severed bull's head near the pitch during a match against RB Leipzig.

The incident, which happened in a DFB Pokal game in August, saw the second tier club punished by the German football authorities.

RB Leipzig are bankrolled by Austrian soft drink company Red Bull and have faced criticism from rival fans for undermining the "German" idea of football.

Dynamo Dresden fined for fans throwing bull's head

Dynamo Dresden will have to close a section of their stands for one game.

Dynamo Dresden have been fined after their fans threw a severed bull's head near the pitch during a match against Leipzig, a team bankrolled by the Red Bull energy drink maker.

The incident happened Aug. 20 during a DFB Pokal game between second-division Dynamo and Leipzig.

Leipzig were promoted into the top tier this season and are equal on points with Bayern Munich after 10 rounds. The team routinely meets with hostile reception from rival fans who object to its commercial links to Red Bull.

Union Berlin accuse Borussia Dortmund of putting fans at risk

Borussia Dortmund are through in the DFB Pokal after a dominating performance on penalties against Union Berlin.

Union Berlin have accused Borussia Dortmund of "amateurish and chaotic organisation" after thousands of supporters were forced through a small, fenced-off area before Wednesday's DFB Pokal clash, with one visiting fan telling ESPN FC: "I feared I would not get out of there."

The match at the Westfalenstadion, which Dortmund ultimately won after a penalty shootout, had to be delayed by 15 minutes as a result of the scenes outside the stadium.
