Hertha Berlin come back to deny Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim stutter

Bayern Munich's misery deepened as they let a two-goal Bundesliga lead slip for the second consecutive week to draw 2-2 at Hertha Berlin.

Interim coach Willy Sagnol took charge of the Bundesliga champions after Carlo Ancelotti's departure following the midweek Champions League humbling at Paris Saint-Germain.

But after Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski scored either side of the interval, Bayern were again on the wrong end of a comeback as Ondrej Duda and Salomon Kalou gave Hertha a deserved point.

The Bavarians' misery was compounded by the loss of Franck Ribery, who appeared to suffer a nasty injury when stretching for a ball in the second half.

The result leaves Bayern, who threw away a 2-0 lead against Wolfsburg in their previous Bundesliga fixture, five points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund in second place.

Hoffenheim lost 3-2 at Freiburg to suffer a first Bundesliga defeat of the season.

Teenager Robert Hack gave Julian Nagelsmann's Hoffenheim a flying start when he fired home on his debut after 14 minutes.

But Freiburg were level within 60 seconds through Florian Niederlechner and Caglar Soyuncu headed them in front four minutes later.

Pascal Stenzel's superb 87th-minute strike extended the lead, and Freiburg held on for a first Bundesliga win after skipper Julian Schuster put through his own net in stoppage time.

Bottom side Cologne suffered yet another defeat, losing 2-1 to RB Leipzig.

They threatened a late comeback when Yuya Osako pulled a goal back only two minutes after Yussuf Poulsen had scored Leipzig's second in the 80th minute.

But Poulsen's goal, added to Lukas Klostermann's 30th-minute opener, ultimately proved enough for the visitors.

Cologne have picked up just one point from seven matches so far this season.
