Bayern ease past Dortmund, Schalke beat Wolfsburg, RB Leipzig win

Bayern Munich regained their 10-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga with a comfortable 4-1 win in Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena.

Franck Ribery, Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben were all on the scoresheet for the defending champions, who maintained their healthy advantage over second-placed RB Leipzig in the title race.

Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro scored the goal of the match for the visitors, but it was scant consolation in a defeat which leaves them fourth in the league, although Hoffenheim's loss at Hamburg earlier on Saturday means they are still just one point off an automatic Champions League place.

Bayern, who were beaten at Hoffenheim on Tuesday, were 2-0 up within 10 minutes against their big rivals Dortmund. Ribery fired home Philipp Lahm's cut-back from the byline before Lewandowski's free kick beat Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki with ease.

Guerreiro pulled a goal back for Dortmund on 20 minutes with a fearsome strike from range that hit the roof of the net, but Bayern remained the team on top.

Robben forced a save from Burki after a trademark cut inside from the right in the run-up to half-time, but he was not to be denied with a similar move soon after the restart that gave Burki no chance.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a chance to cut the lead again but Jerome Boateng cleared off the line, and less than a minute later Bayern had a penalty when Burki hauled down Lewandowski was through on goal. The keeper only received a yellow card, but Lewandowksi stroked home the spot kick to put the gloss on the result.

Schalke defeated Wolfsburg 4-1 to leave the 2009 Bundesliga champions uncomfortably close to the relegation zone on Saturday after two straight losses.

Wolfsburg stayed one point clear of danger with only six games remaining, while Schalke eased their relegation concerns by moving to 10th, eight points clear.

Max Meyer set up Guido Burgstaller to give the home side an early lead, and Leon Goretzka made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute.

Daniel Caligiuri, a winter signing from Wolfsburg, scored against his former club just after the break, and Burgstaller claimed his second with more than 10 minutes remaining.

Mario Gomez pulled one back with a penalty but it was too little, too late for the visitors, who slumped to their second successive defeat under new coach Andries Jonker.

Jonker had been unbeaten in four games until Wednesday's loss at home to Freiburg.

Emil Forsberg scored in the third minute of injury time for RB Leipzig to secure a 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen and stay on course for an automatic Champions League place from their debut season in the top flight.

Leipzig captain Willi Orban was sent off with two minutes remaining but there was still time for Yussuf Poulsen to set up Forsberg's winner.

Leipzig stay second, while Leverkusen remain six points off the relegation zone.

Hoffenheim suffered a 2-1 loss against Hamburg as they failed to consolidate third place.

Aaron Hunt fired Hamburg in front midway through the first half with a free kick inside the far post, only for Matthias Ostrzolek to give away a penalty, which was converted by Andrej Kramaric 10 minutes before the break.

But American forward Bobby Wood crossed for Hunt to score Hamburg's winner with a quarter-hour remaining, lifting the side four points clear of the relegation zone after their fourth straight win at home.

Borussia Monchengladbach came out 3-2 winners at Cologne.

After extending his contract to 2022, Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn had to pick the ball out of his net in the 13th minute of the Rhine derby when Jannik Vestergaard headed the visitors in front.

Christian Clemens provided a prompt response after Anthony Modeste played the Cologne midfielder in.

Ibrahima Traore's cross for Thorgan Hazard eluded Horn and went in after the break, three minutes before Modeste equalised for the home side again with a fine volley. It was the French striker's 23rd goal of the season.

Then Gladbach captain Lars Stindl struck the winner in the 80th to lift the side to eighth, a point behind Cologne in sixth.

Freiburg added to Mainz's relegation worries with a 1-0 victory.

Nils Petersen converted from close range with 20 minutes remaining to leave Martin Schmidt's job as Mainz coach in danger after the side's fifth straight defeat.

There was controversy over the goal -- Petersen was kept onside due to an injured Mainz player lying on the pitch.

Only goal difference was keeping Mainz out of the relegation zone, though that could change Sunday when Augsburg, who also have 29 points, visit Hertha Berlin.
