Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben targets 'perfect' comeback from injury

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has said he wants to make a "perfect" comeback from injury and stressed that "getting fit and staying fit" is his only priority.

Robben missed the final three months of last season with a groin problem, and the 32-year-old Netherlands captain aggravated the injury after only 30 minutes of Bayern's opening preseason friendly five weeks ago.

He returned to light individual training last week but refused to set a definite date for his comeback, telling reporters at the Audi club car presentation: "It's all about getting fit and staying fit.

"If it takes three, four or five weeks then so be it. When I return it can't just be good -- it's got to be perfect.

"I'm back running, and I'm on the right path. Everything is going according to plan."

Meanwhile, Holger Badstuber played down his latest injury setback and said: "Don't worry, I'll be back."

The 27-year-old defender, who has suffered five serious injuries since 2012, made his comeback on the club's recent US tour, five months after breaking his ankle.

He told kicker he thought he would be back in training after the international break.

"I've been out for a long time," he said. "I need time to slowly work my way back and it's important that I think long-term before taking it to the next level. That's why I'm taking my time."
