Wolfsburg suffer defeat at Gladbach in Bundesliga

Borussia Monchengladbach won their third Bundesliga game in a row under the guidance of caretaker coach Andre Schubert, beating Wolfsburg 2-0 at the Borussia Park Stadion.

Goals from Havard Nordtveit and Ibrahima Traore in the space of four second-half minutes were enough for the Foals to take all three points and leave the bottom three in their wake.

Raffael's persistence allowed him to pick up possession wide on the right and evade Timm Klose's challenge before pulling the ball back to the edge of the area, where Nordtveit connected on the volley to beat Diego Benaglio in the 76th minute.

Less than five minutes later, Traore was put through on goal by Lars Stindl and he placed his shot past Benaglio into the left-hand corner to knock the stuffing out of the Wolves.

Hertha Berlin moved up to fourth thanks to a 3-0 win over Hamburg at the Olympiastadion.

Salomon Kalou gave Hertha the lead in the 17th minute, turning on the edge of the area before sending his low shot past Jaroslav Drobny.

Vedad Ibisevic made it two for Berlin in the 77th minute, turning in Tolga Cigerci's low cross from six yards out, before adding the third just minutes later -- keeping his cool when put through on goal by Alexander Baumjohann to seal victory.

Hannover eased the pressure on coach Michael Frontzeck with a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen to instead turn up the heat on visiting boss Viktor Skripnik.

Salif Sane scored the only goal of the game early in the second half, rising highest inside the area to head home.

The Reds then counted on goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler to preserve their lead as he looked to prove a point to Germany coach Joachim Low, who left him out of his latest squad, with a series of eye-catching saves.

Hannover's win lifts them off the foot of the table and to within just two points of their northern rivals, who have lost their last four games.

Timo Werner equalised in the last minute for Stuttgart to salvage a 2-2 draw at Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim forward Kevin Volland scored a penalty in the 33rd minute and then cancelled out Jan Kliment's 64th-minute equaliser with a wonderful chip over the goalkeeper, before Werner headed into the left corner for the draw.

Despite the point, injury-hit Stuttgart slipped to bottom of the table.

Also, Ingolstadt beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 for their first home Bundesliga win.

Pascal Gross scored Ingolstadt's first goal at home this season -- and first ever in the Bundesliga on home soil -- in the 78th minute, leaving Lukas Hradecky no chance with a shot which struck the right-hand post on its way in.

Stefan Lex then beat the offside trap and finished past the onrushing Hradecky to put the seal on the victory, which moved the Bavarians on to 14 points from their first eight league games this term.
