Jurgen Klopp would be a perfect choice to succeed Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has told the Rheinische Post. Guardiola has one year remaining on his Bayern contract and has said his future is undecided amid speculation linking him to Manchester City, and Klopp -- who left Dortmund at the end of the season -- had previously indicated that he would be open to taking charge at the Allianz Arena. Watzke has been critical of Bayern in recent years, even accusing the Bundesliga champions of trying to "destroy" Dortmund, but he said his friendship with Klopp "would not suffer" if the coach were to head to Munich. He added: "Jurgen Klopp is a candidate for every top club. Klopp and Bayern would be 100 percent suitable. You can't do much wrong at Bayern anyway -- they win the Bundesliga whatever happens." Klopp, 48, is currently taking a break from the game after leaving Dortmund following a hugely disappointing final season in which the club battled relegation before eventually battling back to secure Europa League qualification. The former Mainz boss had previously enjoyed six successful seasons at the Westfalenstadion, winning two Bundesliga titles and the 2012 DFB Pokal, as well as reaching the 2013 Champions League final. Given his previous success, Klopp has been widely backed for the position, with Bayern defender Jerome Boateng telling Sport1 in May: "He's a very good coach. You'll see if it happens, but it's indeed interesting." Former Bayern attacker Giovane Elber has also said he is a strong candidate to replace Guardiola.
