Klopp definitely an option to replace Guardiola at Bayern - Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer has told Sky that outgoing Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is "definitely" an option to replace Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich one day.

Klopp announced earlier this month that he will leave Dortmund at the end of the season following a disappointing campaign, with Thomas Tuchel set to take over at the Westfalenstadion.

Guardiola has been linked with an Allianz Arena exit despite Bayern lifting their 25th Bundesliga title this week to keep on course for a treble-winning season.

The former Barcelona coach's contract runs out in 2016, and though ex-Bayern player and former president Beckenbauer says Klopp has been discussed for the role in the past, he does not see Guardiola leaving next summer.

"Of course I could imagine Klopp as Guardiola's successor," Beckenbauer said. "When I was president, we often talked about Klopp and believe he would fit very well at Bayern.

"Klopp is definitely an option at Bayern. The question is, how long Guardiola will be in Munich. I hope for a long time, but Klopp would be considered.

"I can't imagine that Guardiola would leave in 2016. He likes Munich. He has had success with the team and he knows that he can succeed in the future. He has everything he wants."

Ahead of Bayern and BVB's DFB-Pokal semifinal clash at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, Klopp said that he hopes his side "run riot" over the team that signed Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski in successive summer transfer windows.

Meanwhile, Guardiola is relishing the prospect of a last "fight" with Klopp, saying: "It's been a huge honour for me. He's a super guy, and we both have nothing but the greatest respect for each other.

"He will find a big club soon. And those fights will continue. But for now. This will be our last game. He wants to win it, and so do I."
