Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has signed a contract extension at Schalke until 2017 with the option for a further year.

The Netherlands international was due to be a free agent at the end of the season and sporting director Horst Heldt had recently confirmed there had been interest in his services from rival clubs in Germany.
However, the club announced prior to Saturday's game at home to Hamburg that the 31-year-old striker had extended his deal by two years.
Huntelaar has scored 101 goals in 160 competitive games for Schalke since arriving from AC Milan in 2010.
