Cesare Prandelli takes over after Genoa sack Ivan Juric for third time

Torino answered a Cristian Kouame goal just before the half with two quick goals, which sealed Genoa's fate as they were not able to respond on the road.
Check out the five best goals from Matchday 14 in Serie A, including Cengiz Under's long-range strike against Inter.

Former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli replaced Ivan Juric as coach of struggling Genoa on Friday after Juric was fired by the club for the third time following a spell of just two months in charge.

Juric, fired twice by Genoa last year, was dismissed again after they were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by third tier side Virtus Entella on Thursday.

"Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces that it has entrusted the technical leadership of the team to former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli," the club said in a statement.

Genoa, founded in 1893 and Italy's oldest active club, are 14th in Serie A with 15 points from 14 games, four clear of the drop zone. Their next game is at home to SPAL, one point below them, on Sunday.

Juric was recalled in October to replace Davide Ballardini but failed to win any of his eight competitive matches in charge.

The 43-year-old was first appointed by Genoa before the start of the 2016-17 season. He was sacked last February, making way for Andrea Mandorlini, but re-hired two months later after Mandorlini was dismissed.

Juric was again sacked last November when Ballardini -- who has coached the team three times -- was hired.

"The club sends an affectionate greeting and heartfelt thanks to Ivan Juric for the dedication he has given in this experience," the club statement said.

Prandelli coached Italy for four years, leading them to the Euro 2012 final where they lost to Spain. He resigned after Italy were knocked out in the group stage at the 2014 World Cup.
