Brazil's friendly against Colombia to benefit the victims of the Chapecoense air crash has been set for Jan. 25 at the Engenhao stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
When news of the friendly broke earlier this month, spokesman Douglas Lunardi said the Brazilian federation (CBF) will donate about $1.5 million to the families of the Chapecoense players and staff involved in the disaster.
Because the friendly does not fall on a designated FIFA date, Brazil's team will consist only of players from Brazilian clubs.
"It's true it's a game with special character, but we will use it to closer observe some players that haven't had opportunities in other call ups," coach Tite said in a statement. "It will be a good laboratory to remove some doubts."
Nineteen of Chapecoense's players were among the 71 people killed in the crash just outside Medellin, Colombia, on Nov. 28.
