Former Swansea defender Franck Tabanou moves to Guingamp

Franck Tabanou has yet to play a Premier League minute with Swansea.
Franck Tabanou struggled to catch on during his time with Swansea.

Former Swansea defender Franck Tabanou has joined Guingamp, the Ligue 1 club have announced.

The 28-year-old has signed an initial two-year contract with the French side after being released by Swansea at the end of last season.

The former France Under-21 full-back joined the Swans for £3.5 million in 2015, but made only three first-team appearances for the club, all in cup competitions, and spent time out on loan at previous employer St Etienne and Granada.

A statement from Guingamp said: "It's official, Franck Tabanou is Guingampais! The 28-year-old signed a two-year contract with Guingamp, plus an optional year."
