Tigres striker Andre-Pierre Gignac has praised the scale and quality of Mexican football, saying it could be more powerful than France and is the reference point on the American continent.

Gignac, 30, left Marseille for Tigres last summer and helped his new club reach the Copa Libertadores final and win the Liga MX Apertura title.

Barcelona show interest in Lyon's Umtiti rather than Lacazette - Aulas

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop breaks down the current La Liga title race with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid all earning crucial victories.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said Barcelona have not talked to him about Alexandre Lacazette but hinted that the opposite might be true of Samuel Umtiti.

Striker Lacazette, 24, and centre-back Umtiti, 22, have both been linked with the Spanish league leaders in recent weeks.

Lacazette is also reportedly wanted by Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, but Aulas hopes that Lyon can hold on to their top scorer this summer.

Jean-Pierre Papin wants to help Marseille return to top in France

Michy Batshuayi secured three points for Marseille with his 16th goal of the season, putting him fourth in the scoring charts.
Michy Batshuayi faces Nantes this weekend and is the first European player outside of France to reach 15 goals for Marseille since 1993.

Marseille legend Jean-Pierre Papin has said he would like to return to the club to help them get back to their former glory.

The 2010 French champions have had a dramatic season and only secured their top-flight status with a 1-0 win at Angers on Sunday.

Papin, 52, won the Ballon d'Or award in 1991 while at Marseille and the former striker also picked up four Ligue 1 winners' medals with the club.
