Man City's Benjamin Mendy: I'm ready to go to World Cup with France

Benjamin Mendy has said he is ready to go to Russia with France for the World Cup after making a problem-free return to action for Manchester City.

Mendy has been racing to be fit for the end of the Premier League season and the World Cup since rupturing knee ligaments in late September.

The left-back made his first-team comeback late last month, and has now racked up three substitute appearances, including 35 minutes in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town.

And the former Marseille and Monaco player told SFR Sport he feels in the right shape to take on the World Cup.

"I'll do like everyone else and try to get as much playing time as possible," said Mendy, who -- if deemed fit enough by national boss Didier Deschamps -- is a certainty to be in the France squad.

"We'll see when the list comes out. Physically and mentally, I'm at full power and I'm ready to go to Russia."
