PARIS -- Former France player David Ginola gave reassuring news and joked about the World Cup being organised in Qatar after suffering a heat stroke.
Ginola took to Twitter hours after local newspaper Nice Matin reported he had been airlifted unconscious but in stable condition to the Monaco cardiothoracic center after a heart attack.
Officials at the medical facility declined to confirm whether they treated Ginola when reached by The Associated Press.

The 2022 World Cup is set to be in Qatar's winter after FIFA decided to switch the 2022 tournament from June-July to avoid Qatar's searing summers.
According to Nice Matin, Ginola took part in a golf tournament with other sports personalities on Thursday.
Quoting unidentified members of Ginola's entourage, L'Equipe reported that Ginola was hospitalised because of discomfort, and it was not cardiac-related.
Ginola, who last year failed to secure the required support in a bid for the FIFA presidency, played for Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle.
