Rigg: Goalkeeping dilemma

Real Madrid youth-team midfielder Enzo Fernandez, 18, can play for either France or Spain -- his mother's home country -- at international level but he accepted an invitation to join an underage squad at Clairefontaine this week.

"I'm proud that he might be able, for the first time, to wear this jersey," his father, a World Cup and European Championship winner, told RMC.

"I think it's deserved. That's not because he's called Zidane but because he's doing some nice things on the pitch.

"So I'm happy for him because he's delighted to have been selected."

Zidane, 41, who was speaking at the annual Match Against Poverty in Bern, also said he hoped Karim Benzema will star for France this summer.

The Real Madrid assistant manager was one of the coaches the striker credited for his upturn in form earlier this week. Benzema, 26, has returned to his best recently, scoring 21 goals and providing several assists for Real this season.

"He has incredible talent," Zidane said. "He's working like crazy -- he wants to succeed and to show he's the best.

"He had a bad period. But you don't lose your talent. I hope he's going to have a great World Cup."
