Former Paris Saint-Germain director of football Patrick Kluivert has said the French club will not let Marco Verratti leave for Barcelona this summer.
Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez has said the Catalan club will make "big-name signings" during the transfer window, with Italy international Verratti reported to be one of their main targets.
However, Kluivert said he could not envisage a scenario in which PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi would agree to sell Verratti.
"I know the president very well and I also know that Verratti wants to go to Barcelona, but PSG will not let him leave," he told La Sexta.
"He renewed his contract last year and it will be very difficult [for Barca to sign him]."
Catalan newspapers Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo have reported that Barcelona are prepared to pay between €70 million and €80m for the 24-year-old, but Kluivert does not believe that would be enough.
"Verratti's worth more than that," he said. "I think he's worth more than €100m."
Kluivert left his role at PSG earlier this month, with Antero Henrique coming in as sporting director.
Verratti's agent, Donato Di Campli, said he had let Henrique and PSG know his thoughts on his client's future.
"We'll have to see. It's very complicated but we have informed PSG of our ideas," he added.
"It's nothing to do with Barcelona -- it's about projects. I feel that I am managing a champion and champions need to win, so I am asking questions that I think anybody in my position would."
