Fluminense part ways with coach Ricardo Drubscky after eight games

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Fluminense say coach Ricardo Drubscky, who was hired less than two months ago, is leaving the club by mutual agreement.

The Rio de Janeiro club said the decision was made after a meeting with the coach on Wednesday.

Fluminense has started the Brazilian league season with a 1-0 home win over newly-promoted Joinville and a 4-1 loss at Atletico Mineiro.

Drubscky replaced Cristovao Borges, who was fired in March after poor performances in Rio's state championship. In total, he coached Fluminense for only eight matches, winning five and losing three.

Fluminense, led by former Brazil striker Fred, won the Brazilian league in 2010 and 2012.

The decision marks the 43rd time Fluminense has changed managers in the last 13 years.
