FIFA presidential candidate Prince Ali visits Zimbabwe

HARARE, Zimbabwe -- FIFA presidential candidate Prince Ali bin al-Hussein is visiting Zimbabwe and was due to meet with the country's vice president and sports leaders on Tuesday.

The Zimbabwe Football Association said Prince Ali, who is challenging FIFA president Sepp Blatter in elections in May, arrived in the southern African nation on Monday on a private plane.

Jordan's Prince Ali was set to meet with ZIFA president Cuthbert Dube and sports minister Andrew Langa.

Prince Ali is one of three challengers to Blatter for world football's top job.

The FIFA vice president has moved his campaign to Africa ahead of the Confederation of African Football's general assembly meeting next week, which he is expected to attend.

Africa makes up 54 of the 209 FIFA member countries that will vote in the presidential election.
