U.S. Soccer boss Carlos Cordeiro: No decision on Gold Cup after 2021

United States Soccer Federation president Carlos Cordeiro said that no decision has been made on if the Gold Cup will continue after 2021.

"The Gold Cup is only legislated for this year and 2021, so it could go on but it may not happen," he said, according to The Athletic.

KOLKATA, India -- An expanded Club World Cup could replace the Confederations Cup as part of a revised calendar that FIFA will examine, president Gianni Infantino says.

Infantino told reporters after a FIFA council meeting on Friday that both club and international competitions will be reviewed as part of a revised calendar that FIFA will consider at their next council meeting in March.

Mexico will not appeal FIFA suspension of coach Juan Carlos Osorio

Mexico will not appeal the six-game suspension of coach Juan Carlos Osorio, the national federation announced on Friday.

FIFA banned Osorio last week for protesting a controversial referee decision in the third-place game of the Confederations Cup, leaving the coach to watch the ongoing CONCACAF Gold Cup from a stadium suite.

But Mexico, which will play the complete six games at the Gold Cup if it reaches the final, will not push back against the punishment.

Mexico legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco backs Osorio: 'I'll give him all my trust'
