FIFA launches 2018 World Cup volunteer programme

MOSCOW -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and FIFA president Gianni Infantino have launched the volunteer programme for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Brad Guzan to start over Tim Howard for U.S., Jurgen Klinsmann says

Former Newcastle and West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop shares his thoughts on Tim Howard making his way back into the U.S. fold after a one-year sabbatical.

Tim Howard will return to international duty in September, but Brad Guzan will retain his spot as the United States' No. 1 goalkeeper, coach Jurgen Klinsmann said on Thursday.

Klinsmann confirmed Howard's return after a year-long sabbatical for friendlies next month against Peru and Brazil. The full squad will be named on Aug. 30.

United States-Mexico game pushed back one day to Saturday, Oct. 10

The U.S. and Mexico will play in October for the right to take part in the Confederations Cup.

The Confederations Cup playoff game between the U.S. and Mexico has been pushed back one day to Oct. 10.

The game, originally set for Friday, Oct. 9, will now take place on Saturday to accommodate a "Futbol Fiesta" fan zone outside the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The U.S. and Mexico will play the game to decide which team represents CONCACAF at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
