Adel Taarabt wanted by Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce are considering a move for Morocco playmaker Adel Taarabt, whose contract talks with FC Nantes have stalled.

According to reports in the Moroccan media [as per CNN], the 29-year-old Benfica forward is being considered by the Super Lig heavyweights despite being closely linked with a move back to France in recent weeks.

L'Equipe reported that Nantes were closing in on a move for the former AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur attacker, but that the two parties were unable to agree on the terms of the North African's contract when they met on July 30.

Since emerging onto the scene with Racing Club de Lens in 2005, Taarabt moved to Spurs two years later but struggled to make his mark under a series of coaches at White Hart Lane.

His subsequent career has been nomadic, and while he inspired Queens Park Rangers to the Premier League in memorable fashion in 2010-11, he's struggled to demonstrate his class on a consistent basis since.

The former France U-21 international has also spent time on loan at Fulham and Genoa, and signed for Benfica in 2015, signing a five-year contract.
