Iker Casillas breaks Van der Sar's Champions League clean sheet record
Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas broke another Champions League record on Tuesday after keeping a clean sheet against Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
Casillas, 34, helped Porto overcome Maccabi Tel-Aviv 2-0 as his team climbed top of Champions League Group G.
In the process, the Spain international recorded his 51st clean sheet in the competition, taking him ahead of former Manchester United shot-stopper Edwin van der Sar.
Last month, Casillas broke the Champions League appearance record by playing his 152nd game in the 2-1 win over Chelsea.
Casillas ended a 25-year association with Real Madrid in the summer after he joined Portuguese side Porto.
Casillas joined Real's youth academy in 1990 and went on to win 17 major honours in that time, including three Champions League trophies.
