FC Dallas, Paraguay striker Cristian Colman done for season with ACL tear

FC Dallas forward Cristian Colman will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during a training session, the team announced late Wednesday evening.

Colman, 24, sustained the injury Tuesday. He will undergo surgery to repair the injury once the swelling in his knee subsides, according to the team.

His loss is a blow to a Dallas club atop the Western Conference standings at 15-6-9 (54 points).

Colman has two goals in 15 games (six starts) this season. He joined Dallas as a designated player in January 2017 and had two goals and an assist in 26 games (10 starts) last season.

Colman had just been called up to the Paraguayan national team for this month's international window prior to getting injured.
