Walker Zimmerman out 4-6 weeks, handing FC Dallas defensive dilemma

FC Dallas defender Walker Zimmerman will to miss the next four to six weeks with a knee strain, the MLS club announced on Tuesday.

Zimmerman strained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee in the first half of Sunday's draw with the Houston Dynamo, and the injury was confirmed following an MRI on Monday.

The 24-year-oldĀ has started 10 of FC Dallas' 12 games so far this season, and the injury leaves Dallas missing its top two center-backs with Matt Hedges away on United States national team duty.

Zimmerman was replaced on Sunday by Atiba Harris, while Walker Hume is also likely to get a start against Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
