Everton youngster Antony Evans signs first pro deal with club

Highly-rated Everton youngster Antony Evans has signed his first pro deal with the club.

The attacking midfielder has been with Everton since the age of nine and turned 17 last month.

Evans, who broke into Everton's Under-21s side last season as a 16-year-old is tipped for a bright future at Goodison Park and he admitted it was a wish fulfilled to sign professional terms.

"It's a dream come true and all I've wanted since I was a kid starting out playing football," Evans told the club's official website.

"The senior players are like idols, so it's been great to be playing with them because you become a better player yourself.

"The next aim is definitely to establish myself in the under-21s side and get as many games as possible with them."

Evans' representative Simon Conning believes the future is bright for Evans and Everton, with the likes of Liam Walsh also pushing to make it into the first team.

"All the team at Crown are delighted for Anthony and his family on his pro deal," Conning told ESPN FC.

"Anthony is an exceptional talent who understands the principles of being at Everton and he is also a well-grounded boy.

"Along with Liam Walsh we are excited about the next chapter of Anthony's learning and development as he progresses towards the first team."
