Xavi Hernandez to present Euro 2016 trophy to Portugal or France

Former Spain captain Xavi Hernandez will present either Portugal or France with the European Championship trophy following the Euro 2016 final on Sunday.

Xavi, 36, won the competition in 2008 and 2012 with La Roja during an international career that also included a 2010 World Cup win.

Spain were knocked out of the competition in the round-of-16 by Italy, ending their eight-year hold on the trophy. Their previous defeat in the tournament came back in 2004.

Sunday's final sees France given the opportunity to win a third consecutive tournament on home soil following the 1984 European Championship and the 1998 World Cup, while Portugal have the chance to make amends for their unexpected loss to Greece in the final of Euro 2004.
