UEFA charges Portugal and Poland over fan troubles during quarterfinal

UEFA has charged the Portuguese football federation after one of the team's fans ran onto the field during Thursday's Euro 2016 quarterfinal against Poland.

Both Portugal and Poland also face disciplinary proceedings over fireworks being set off by fans at the stadium in Marseille.

Poland have also been charged over a late kick-off.

UEFA said on its official website: "These cases will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 21 July."

Portugal advanced to the semifinals by winning a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw.
