Injured Czech Republic's Tomas Rosicky ruled out of Euro 2016

Czech Republic captain Tomas Rosicky has been ruled out of the rest of his country's Euro 2016 campaign with a thigh injury.

Rosicky, 35, picked up the problem in his side's 2-2 draw with Croatia on Friday having missed most of the season with Arsenal due to a series of injury problems.

Team doctor Petr Krejci revealed earlier on Sunday that if Rosicky has a tear in his muscle "then, the tournament is over for him. If not, we will do all we can to get him ready for the game against Turkey."

News of Rosicky's fate was revealed on Euro 2016's official Twitter account, which stated that "Czech Republic doctors confirm that captain Tomas Rosicky will miss the rest of #EURO2016 with a thigh injury."

The Czechs have one point in Group D and will almost certainly need to beat Turkey in their final Group D match on Tuesday to have a chance of advancing to the knockout round of the competition.

Friday's match was also marred by ugly scenes as Croatia fans fought with one another and threw lit flares onto the pitch, leading to UEFA to announce they would open disciplinary proceedings against Croatia.
